

The latest round of matches in the Norfolk Junior Squash League took place on Sunday April 6 with the East Anglia club in Norwich climbing to the top of both Division 2 and Division 3. Tony Henden reports.
The fourth round of matches took place at Fakenham Sports Association between Fakenham II, EAT&SC II & Wymondham High School. With the students weakened by the loss of county player Hannah Morris they were in for a tough afternoon. Gary O'Brien gained Wymondham's only win with a 3-0 victory over Connor Doy, in a fairly comfortable 3-1 win for Fakenham in the first match. Chris Savory, Leyton James and Adam Sinkins all winning 3-0 for the home team.

Playing EAT&SC in their second match Gary produced another excellent result with a surprise 3-2 win over Luke Perry, and Ben Skelton grabbed a point in a 3-1 defeat to Harry Fowler with both players competing in the league for the first time. Chris Crawford and Nathan Taylor however completed comfortable 3-0 wins for the Norwich team.
Match Result EAT&SC II 15pts, Wymondham HS 4pts.
In the final match Adam Sinkins gained his second 3-0 win of the day for Fakenham, and Chris Crawford did likewise for EAT&SC. With Nathan Taylor for EAT&SC also winning 3-1 against Jake Pearce, Luke Perry completed the match victory the narrowest of wins over Chris Savory 4/9, 8/10, 9/2, 9/5, 10/8.

Division 3
The division 3 matches at Beccles Leisure Centre saw players from age 8 upwards competing from Bannatynes, EAT&SC and Beccles. The first match proved to be the most competitive where Jessica Smith and Lucy Rix gained 3-0 wins for Beccles and Jessica Arneil won 3-0 for Bannatynes. The improving Jake Bond was then able to square the tie at 2-2 with an excellent 6/9, 9/2, 6/9, 9/1, 9/2 win for Bannatynes over Bradley Rix.
Match Result Beccles II 10 pts, Bannatynes II 8 pts.
EAT&SC's strength in depth proved too much for the young Bannatynes team in their second match. Daniel and Alice Fuller were unable to trouble Verity Kelly and Callum Mooney on his league debut, but Jessica Arneil gained encouragement in a 3-1 defeat to Liam Mooney and Jake Bond went one better in losing 3-2 to Samuel Henden.
Match Result EAT&SC III 16pts, Bannatynes 3pts.
EAT&SC III continued their progress in the final match against home team Beccles II. William Henden stepped in to inflict another narrow defeat on Bradley Rix, and both Liam Mooney and Verity Kelly were again too experienced for Sam Burrows and Jessica Smith from Beccles. Callum Mooney from EAT&SC again did extremely well in a close match with Lucy Rix to record another 3-1 win, and produce a slightly flattering 4-0 match score.
