National ranking points as well as prestigious trophies are up for grabs in the Norfolk Junior Squash County Championships on September 25 and 26 at East Anglia Tennis and Squash Club in Norwich.
Organisers are hoping for a bumper number of entries in age groups from Under 11s through to Under 19s, according to junior squash chairman, Steve Mooney.
“September sees the start of the squash season and the Norfolk junior squash committee has been busy over the summer organising an extensive coaching programme geared towards increasing the standard of junior squash in Norfolk.
“What makes this Norfolk county closed championship extra special is that national ranking points can be gained, helping several of our better players improve their national rankings.
“What is especially pleasing is that the standard of junior squash is improving all the time with several of our players now in regional academy squads. Hopefully with the possibility of national ranking points we will have the largest entry ever in this season's county closed,” said Steve.
Entry costs just £7 and presentations will take place after the finals on Sunday afternoon.
