There have been several changes in the Norfolk Junior Squash organizing team with new managers and a fund-raiser appointed.
After over four years of managing the girls teams, helping to arrange coaching courses and finding grant and funding opportunities for NJS, Gary Baker is stepping down from the committee.
Deputy chairman, Steve Rawsthorne, said: “We have much to thank Gary for, and the girls particularly for giving them the opportunity of regular local inter-county competition. Andy Trim will be picking up girls training and NJS will be looking to improve the participation by girls in squash over the coming months. If you have any suggestions or ideas then let us know.”
Jan Cockburn has joined the committee as fundraising officer and will be hoping to secure new income streams from Grand Prix sponsorship through businesses 'local' to the venue. If you work for, or know of, any businesses that may be interested in a sponsorship opportunity in their area then please let Jan know so that she can approach them with a proposal.
Andy Trim will be picking up the Boys U17 Team manager's role next season from Steve Rawsthorne who will be managing the Boys U19 team.

Steve said: “If you think you could spare a couple of hours a month to come along to committee meetings, help at a Grand Prix or help manage one of the county teams then please don't be shy - we need more help and as we are becoming increasingly more active we need to spread the load.
“Our aim is to be able to field a full set of eight teams (U13, 15, 17 and 19 girls and boys) from Norfolk in the England Squash County competitions, something Norfolk hasn't done for many years. The increased participation in Grand Prixs and the various club and training initiatives are bringing players on and they will only improve with some serious out of county experience.”
