Foster, Creed and Morris take maximums in a day of draws
In the second round of Division 1 matches in the Norfolk Junior Squash League held at East Anglia Tennis & Squash Club in Norwich, EATSC I first took on league champions Diss. Wins for Diss by Jack Bell and Andy Whiting at No 1 and 2 set up a potential Diss victory but hard fought victories from Tom Morris at 3 and league 1 debutant Alex Williams at 4 ensured a 2-2 draw.
In the second tie, Bannatynes could only muster three players against Diss, but even so wins for Alex Foster and a battling Jordan Creed at 1 and 2 ensured a second drawn match with Dan Betts winning at number 3 for Diss with an Alex Brown walkover at No 4.
In the concluding match Alex Foster and Jordan Creed were no in the mood to be beaten and close wins, especially Jordan's 3-2 victory over Luke Perry set them up for an unlikely win. With Alex Williams taking a walkover at 4 for EATSC it was all down to the third string match where East Anglia captain Tom Morris wrapped up a convincing win over Harry Lillig, meaning that all three ties in the day were drawn 2-2 in this keenly contested league.
Fakenham teams are dominating several of the other divisions, with promotion already likely for most of their teams, which will ensure some tougher matches next season.
The youngsters from Bannatynes and EAT&SC continue to gain enjoyment and experience from their matches, with the teams from Harleston, Beccles II & Fakenham II looking well matched for a close Division 3 Play-off Final on May 3.
