

Trophies were presented to the winners of the Norfolk Junior Squash Leagues and to high-performing Grand Prix players in a ceremony at the East Anglia club in Norwich on September 26.
League Division 1 champions, Bannatynes and Cromer, received individual awards and a trophy, along with Division 2 winners Fakenham 1, Division 3 winners Fakenham 2 and Division 4 winners, Fakenham 3.
Since the re-launch of the Norfolk Junior Squash Grand Prix Tournament Series in 2005, attendances have continued to climb each year, and many new venues have been introduced to the tournament schedule.
The objective of the events is to provide match experience for juniors of any standard, in a competitive tournament environment, where Code of Conduct and Child Protection procedures are followed.
The tournaments also act as a perfect vehicle to talent spot youngsters for county team selection and, together with the annual Norfolk Junior County Closed Competition, provides invaluable match experience, motivation and enjoyment for the county's squash juniors.
Each one day tournament is graded regardless of age or gender, and provides a minimum of three matches against players of similar ability, with every match being refereed by another junior.
Following re-launch, the first full season in 2005/6 attracted 263 entries, rising to 356 in 2006/7, 450 in 2007/8, and 486 during the 10 monthly Series from Oct 2008 to July 2009.
Award Winners for the 2008/9 season were Boys Ranking Winner Jack Bell. Girls Ranking Winner Sophie Hodges. Most Group Wins Jordan Creed.
Gold Participation Award Alex Coburn. Silver Award Winners Jordan Creed, Jamie Foyster, Giles Evans, Katie Cox. Bronze Award Winners Alex Brown, Josh Brownlow, Sam Henden, William Henden & Sam Lanham.
The first Grand Prix of the 2009/10 season is scheduled to take place at Harleston Squash Club and Heywood Sports, Diss on Sunday October 18. Entry forms for this event, together with a full schedule for the 2009/10 season will be distributed shortly and also made available on this website.
