This year's Norfolk Junior Squash County Closed Championships saw a boost in numbers and a young star emerge.
Fourteen-year-old Harry Taylor was this year's star performer as he comfortably won both the Under 15 boys title, against Connor Doy and also stepped up an age group to claim the Under 17 title as well against Joe Bolt. Both matches were won in straight sets.
The Norfolk closed saw 64 juniors under the age of 19 take part from right across the county at the East Anglia Lawn Tennis & Squash Club in Norwich on Saturday and Sunday September 27 and 28.
Hannah Morris was too strong for her opponent Emma Baker in the Girls U19, winning the title 3-0 for the second year running. Bradley Garrett also won the boys U19 for the second year against Ben Rawsthorne with a 3-0 scoreline.
Although some of the finals had a one-sided look to them there were a lot of games in the earlier rounds that were very well contested, said tournament organiser David Youngs.
The Hodges sisters (Sophie, Jenny) won one event each taking the girls U15 and U17 titles respectively. Lauren Eves claimed the girls U13 title with Ailish Reeson winning the U11.
The Henden brothers fought out the boys U11 event with the younger William taking a well fought match 3-1 against Sam. The U13 went the way of Lasith Ranasinghe who beat Adam Crafer 3-0.
All title winners received prizes supplied by Dunlop alongside their trophies.
