This weekend saw the Norfolk county U15 Girls squad impressively take the top spot in their semi-finals tournament to make it into the Inter County Championships in January 2018. The event is organised by England squash.
Their semi-final followed an earlier round success in October and was hosted by a well organised Essex setup at The Connaught Club in Chingford on Saturday 18th November. They played three rounds against Essex, Kent and Devon, winning each round to take all available bonus points and win the semi-final overall. Essex came second with an expected strong squad but the Norfolk team had enough to take this and the other matches to complete a very mature 1st place.
Group 1 winner: Katie Cox
Group 2 winner: George Pinkstone
Group 3 winner: James Mounfield
Group 4 winner: Edgar Alston
There are only 5 days remaining to enter the EATSC junior Grand Prix taking place on Sunday 22nd October.

This year’s County Junior Squash Championships drew an increased attendance from 2016, with all age categories being contested, and providing encouraging signs for the season ahead. Last year’s Girls U11 Runner-up Chaman Uppal, went one stage better in defeating Katie Smith to win her first title. Whilst 2 times previous Boys U11 winner Brady Mackenzie added a third consecutive title with another impressive performance. In the Girls U13 event Jasmine Thirst was a comfortable winner, adding to her U11 title from last year, and Brady MacKenzie also retained his U13 title without dropping a game, making it another double win for the weekend.
