Broadland Sports Club recently welcomed Harleston Squash Club, for a friendly tournament with juniors of mixed abilities and all ages taking part. The friendly match which took place on the afternoon of Saturday the 21st January, saw 14 juniors split between four groups take to the courts for some highly entertaining and high quality squash matches. In group 1, Isaac Allsop finish in first place, without dropping a game throughout the afternoon.
Group 2, was a mix of Broadland and Harleston juniors, once again it was a Harleston junior winning this group. Corey was pushed to his limits in both his matches as they both went to 3 games, but he was able to come out the eventual victor in both and ended up topping the group. Group 3, was packed with Broadland players, however Kai, the only Harleston junior came out on top, without dropping a game, dominating group 3. Group 4, saw Finlay, from Harleston, take victory by only dropping one game during the afternoon to Broadland Sports Club’s Matthew Wiggins. After the tournament, players enjoyed a swim followed by a light meal after the day's hard effort both on court and in the pool. Thanks to Jake Bond and Olly Bickley for organising the event. Congratulations to all who took part, it was a fun afternoon to be involved in. We are planning on the return tournament at Harleston Leisure Centre in a couple of months. |
